Trip to Lauriston Primary School - by Rakhi and Emily
The year nine ICT have been working hard on a project all about future schools. On 16th June we set off for the journey to Lauriston Primary School, Hackney with Miss Balrai and Sasha Hoare. When we got there we were greeted by the deputy head Sylvia Taylor, then we were given a tour of their newly built school. It was rather big and it was very colourful; most of the school was made out of wood so the children had a different atmosphere to learn in, and whilst at the school the pupils from our school had the chance to capture a one to one interview with the deputy headteacher. We all enjoyed the experience of learning through images. Now we will look forward to the editing. A big thank you to Miss Balrai and Sasha Hoare!
Year 9 editors
Editing the Year 9 films has finally begun in the last week of term.
Students started looking through all the clips they have filmed and deciding which ones will go into their videos. They also designed DVD covers for the finished films and wrote evaluations of the project so far.
The six Year 9 production teams - Cast Crew, Mixed Race, The Production People, Coconut Productions, Idiot Thunderbolt Productions and the Fantastic Four - will finish their editing in September.

Writing and filming
The EAL after school Club has been working with Sasha every week this term, putting together a film about their futures.
The members of the Club have been writing poems about the places they have come from and their dreams for the future. They've been filming each other reading their poems in different languages, interviewing each other and looking through the footage to decide how the finished film will look.
The film will be premiered to the school in the autumn term.
A finished film...
Although unfortunately the Year 9 students' editing has been delayed because of file compatibility problems, the Year 11 students' film is now finished.
The film shows Year 11 students celebrating on Prom night and reflecting back on what has helped them get through their journeys through school. Adam and Sarah did the filming and editing with Sasha and their film will be shared with the school next term.
